There are various different ways that you can get yourself involved within the Founders community. Founders College Student Council is made up of multiple committees that are always looking for volunteers throughout the year to help carry out events. The two major committees are Social and Athletics. The Social Committee is responsible for hosting multiple events throughout the year such as coffee houses, movie nights, snakes & lattes etc. as well as holding charity events. Meanwhile, the Athletics Committee is responsible for providing Founders constituents with many sports team to participate and become a part of. If you are an athletic person that is interested in playing competitive, co-ed, or intermediate sports, the Athletics Committee will fulfill those needs.
If you’d like further information on these committees please do not hesitate to contact our Vice President of Social Affairs, Nicholas Casey, email@example.com or our Vice President of Athletic Affairs, Justin Moutier, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Master’s Office employs a number of students per academic year in the College Life at York (CLAY) program. The CLAY program provides on campus part-time job opportunities for eligible full-time York University students. These jobs are primarily available during the September to April academic session; although a limited number of jobs are also available in the Summer to students who will be continuing their studies in the following fall/winter term.
Advantages to students:
• Earn extra income to meet educational costs (tuition, mandatory fees, and textbooks)
• Gain valuable work experience and develop your professional skills
• Network with staff, faculty and College fellows
Through the CLAY program, paid opportunities are created for Founders students to work on campus and to encourage learning with faculty, staff and fellow students.
The Master’s Office, located at 216 Founders College, takes student volunteers for a variety of events throughout the academic year. The list below will give you an idea of the type of initiatives for which we seek volunteers:
